Key points from first Invictus community AMA
Invictus team held their first community AMA several hours ago and here’s some key takeaways:
Team assessment
This is the first time I’ve heard them communicate their positions verbally and they have a good comprehension of the ecosystem and technical issues to drive the project.
The team is good at focusing on priorities which is currently about building out the appropriate infrastructure for the project.
The team is also focused on this project full-time. There’s zero distractions here.
Treasury focus
The current treasury is being utilized primarily for farming where the yield generated is ultimately channeled back to stakers.
The actual numbers were not discussed but if there was some realtime data dashboard to view this that would indeed be very cool.
The team is open to adding more assets like OHM or assets from other EVM chains like AVAX but it will take time for these assets to become more readily available on Solana.
There was also some mention about being open to adding more types of stablecoins so there’s some speculation it could be something like Mim.
Invictus Flare
Invictus Flare is similar to Olympus Pro which is basically a bonding-as-a-service infrastructure for other projects that want to raise liquidity via bonding.
This will be a critical offering that will make Invictus successful because every project in the SOL ecosystem would potentially want to partner with them for this service.
Fees generated from this service would then strengthen the project overall.
Staking pools
Once Invictus Flare is launched the team will be launching 2 kinds of staking pools. One pool will be a regular pool while the other will be locked for a specific timeframe (say 3 months) to incentivize stakers to stake long term which is essentially the goal of a reserve currency. Stakers have to understand that they’re all on the same team and the more consensus that exists for everyone to stake the better off everyone becomes.
Staked $IN
They definitely working on ways stakers can make use of Staked $IN. I didn’t catch much else details on this but it’s definitely worth monitoring.
IDOs
IDOs will be exciting for Invictus because it pairs well with Olympus’s strategy of launching their Incubator. When Invictus plays a role in helping launch new apps or protocols it could help projects utilize $IN as a currency they hold and also potentially use Flare to raise more capital in the future. The IDOs are still in a research phase for the team but it’s interesting to see them thinking about this direction.
Partnerships
They mentioned several projects they’re already having discussions for future partnerships and these projects include:
Solend
GenesysGO
Grape
DeFiLand
I think what’s interesting about the Friktion partnership is they’re looking at utilizing their treasury assets in covered call vaults offered by Friktion to help generate more yield.
Recent dumping
Yes, the short term price action hasn’t been easy to stomach for people who got in at the $1000 ranges. But I think in comparison to other projects you’ll be able to make it up quicker with a lower price appreciation simply because you remain staked.
The team mentioned that they’re data definitely doesn’t show whales dumping $IN. It’s primarily been the smaller to medium sized holders that have been shedding some $IN.
DAO Setup
The team will be launching a proper DAO setup with a Forum similar to what you see on Olympus where holders can submit & vote on proposals. This is very exciting indeed.
Future
Big picture I’m not bothered by the recent price action because as long as the team has a good handle on the project and it seems like they do and they’re about to deliver some very exciting features, coupled with the fact that Solana has a rather strong moat against other EVM chains and there’s actually some inertia for Olympus to send gOHM so soon, Invictus has a very bright future to dominate Solana.
